About the initiative
VX is the preeminent Virtual Volunteer Expo and is provided on a virtual reality platform, allowing participants to explore volunteer opportunities and meet with reps local not-for-profits. It supports organic, realtime, simultaneous, back-and-forth exploration and interaction, as one might enjoy at an in-person event.
How it works
VX is offered 3 times per year (Winter, Spring and Fall). When an upcoming VX is announced, participants register as attendees and receive a reminder as the VX date approaches. Non-profit organizations can register as Exhibitors and create a digital booth. The platform is browser based and does not require any special software downloads. Attendees can participate on any device with a stable internet connection, simply clicking where they wish to go within the virtual venue. By exploring the lobby, auditorium, and booths, attendees can interact with exhibitors, attend special webinars, and enter into a scavenger hunt or leaderboard. Chat between participants and reps can be done within the platform by type, call or video.
