Leader in Volunteer Engagement Awards

Description

There is a Staff Leader in Volunteer Engagement Award for an outstanding staff member and, new in 2024, an Organization Leader in Volunteer Engagement Award one for an outstanding non-profit organization overall.

Presented to one who has developed and supported relevant volunteer opportunities that directly reflect and impact the mission of their organization. In this award category, staff of an organization are eligible to be nominated. Leading volunteers is a challenging, but invaluable role and Volunteer MBC advocates for the importance of supporting this profession.

For the Staff Leader in Volunteer Engagement Award, nominations can be made by eligible Volunteer MBC Member Organizations, so we encourage Executive Directors and Board Members to recognize their outstanding volunteer engagement professionals.

For the Organization Leader in Volunteer Engagement Award, nominations are made by Volunteer MBC internal personnel.
We will nominate three Member Organizations and the Judging Committee will score the nominations.
The organization representative will receive a free ticket to the 2024 V-Oscars.

Award Criteria

  • Recognizes the important and vital role that volunteers have within the organization.
  • Demonstrates an interest in learning and development to grow in the role.
  • Implements impressive tools or techniques to provide an effective and meaningful experience for volunteers.
  • Helps empower community members through the power of volunteering
  • Developed and supported relevant skills-based volunteer opportunities that reflect and advance the organization’s mission.
  • Proven dedication to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion within the volunteer base.
  • Upholds the rights and responsibilities of volunteers, especially with regard to the Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement.
