About the program
The SAVVY: Conversation Circles is an intergenerational program that holds space for older adults and youth of underserved communities to come together to have meaningful discussions about social issues through dialogue, knowledge-sharing and fun activities.
How it works
We meet twice a month on Wednesdays at 6:00P.M.
Activities consist of:
– Having an intergenerational conversation about a social issue
– Participating in a workshop
– Participating in fun icebreakers and games
– Hearing from local community organizations and leaders
– Group volunteering
Participants will have the opportunity to sign up to lead a conversation, share a skill or facilitate their own workshop!
Why should I participate?
Intergenerational programs bridge generational gaps and foster relationships between individuals of various ages, while also addressing issues such as mental wellbeing, loneliness and isolation, ageism, cultural identity gaps, digital divides and more.
Program Eligibility
- Youth ages of 14 - 22
- Older Adults (age 55+)
We will prioritize members of underserved communities into the program, including people who identify as racialized, LGBTQ2S+, newcomer or refugee, low-income, and/or live with a disability.
