Goal

The community needs of the Town of Caledon have been the focus of Caledon Community Services (CCS) since 1971. Our Vision: A Healthy, Engaged Compassionate Community for all. Our Mission: To help people help themselves by working creatively and responding to community needs. CCS is a non-profit organization that provides health care and community services to the residents of Caledon. CCS supports assisted living for seniors, newcomer services, youth and employment services, specialized transportation services, food support, and referrals to community resources.

CCS is in need of a Volunteer Handyperson, who will ensure that CCS offices are well maintained and kept in a good state of repair.


Description

The Volunteer Handyperson may expect to perform general repairs in CCS offices, including but not limited to: Dry wall repairs, minor plumbing work, minor electrical work (eg. replacing light fixtures abd washers in faucets), furniture assembly, painting and modest renovation of office spaces, as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Age - 25
  • You've confident, knowledgeable 'handy skills' (see DESCRIPTION, above), acquired through training and/or experience
  • Your schedule places you in a position ti be flexible in your commitment to this 'role', and your overall engagement will be at least 6 MONTHS
  • Punctual/reliable
  • Police Vulnerable Sector Check & Proof of Vaccination

SCREENING of the ideal candidate will be virtual/remote (Tel/Email/Online interviewing), unless otherwise advised.

Time Commitment
This is a Long Term (More than 6 months) commitment
Shifts are available on the following days
 - Monday Afternoon, Monday Evening, Tuesday Morning, Tuesday Afternoon, Tuesday Evening, Wednesday Morning, Wednesday Afternoon, Wednesday Evening, Thursday Morning, Thursday Afternoon, Thursday Evening, Friday Morning, Friday Afternoon

FLEXIBLE (Monday thru Thursday), as needed and mutually arranged.
