About the Position
3078 - Stage Lighting and Sound Volunteers > CARABRAM July 8 to 10, 2022 > Apply NOW!
Position Address:
CARABRAM 2022: Loafer's Lake Recreation Centre, Loafers Lake Lane, Brampton, Ontario
Mississauga, Brampton

Rotary Club of Mississauga Malton (RCMM) is one of 9 highly active Rotary clubs in the City of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Proud to be part of Rotary International, a 1.2 million-member worldwide humanitarian organization, with 33,000 Rotary clubs around the world. Rotarians are men and women who volunteer their time to make a difference in our communities and the world, through local and international service projects, fundraising efforts to support local charities, youth programs, and global relief efforts. Our outreach programs locally focus on Youth and Seniors. As the Club's presence within Mississauga and neighbouring Peel region communities continues to expand, we'll be staging and also supporting 'in person' community events designed to make residents aware of our vision and mission, plus encourage people within the communities we serve to get together and have fun!NEXT MONTH (early July!), RCMM will participate in CARABRAM 2022, from Friday, July 8 to Sunday, July 10, and we will be operating a stage at one of the pavillions. Event location is Loafers Lake Recreation Centre (see MAP, below). In support of the logistics of our STAGE at CARABRAM, and in other events, RCMM needs capable volunteers to contribute their skills, experience, and overall expertise in the important areas of LIGHTING and SOUND. If your background, through secondary school, community college, university, or just by hands-on experience, relates to the Theatre and putting performers on stage, getting involved in SOUND and/or LIGHTING would be an excellent opportunity to showcase your skills and add to your experience!

The respective volunteering 'roles' > LIGHTING and SOUND, on a 'live stage' will be familiar to those who have had exoerience in either capacity. In most instances, at community events and settings, the technical requirements are not as sophisticated as, say, Brampton's Rose Theatre, but applicants should have had some quality experience in the staging of performances (for example, high school plays/musicals; community theatre group involvement; pratical application/training as part of a community college/university 'Theatre Arts' program).

Essentially, our ideal candidates will 'know what to do', and will readily familiarize themselves with the CARABRAM pavillion stage and its technical features, capacities, equipment and operation..

IT IS IMPORTANT that qualified applicants apply ASAP, well before July 4, 2022. Volunteers with 'profiles' in Volunteer MBC's Referral System should upload their resumes, then click the yellow box 'Apply Now!' (above) in order to provide their name/contact info/resume as part of the application process. After you have applied, please monitor your 'Junk/Spam' email, as a precaution, and leave space on your voicemail for communications from Rotary. Thank you!

Excellent opportunity to use 'Theatre Arts' technical education/training skills in LIGHTING and SOUND + Participate in Brampton's major annual cultural event CARABRAM + 'Network' while adding contacts and valuable practical technical experience (add to your resume) + Be a key part of community outreach at a fun public event.
