Goal

The Harris Brand Foundation (Foundation) has been founded with the mandate to advance education by providing publicly available scholarships, bursaries, and other forms of financial assistance to Student-Athlete individuals pursuing elementary, secondary and or postsecondary education.Our outreach focuses on working with like-minded individuals from the private and corporate sectors to curate meaningful and impactful sponsorship opportunities for its qualified donees. Our slogan: Financially supporting Student-Athletes with their Dreams.

As the Foundation continues to build its capacity and expand its message and outreach through focused marketing and promotion, we have immediate need for a volunteer Graphic Designer will be engaged to design a wide variety of apparel designs which will be printed and/or embroidered onto garments that the Foundation will use in its marketing campaigns and as a key visual part of our 'brand'. Description

The Harris Brand Foundation wants to engage YOU, if you're a highly creative Graphic Designer, with a passion for impactful visual messaging (and 'branding') that is noticed by the public, attractive, compelling, and remembered. The ideal candidate will have an interest in fashion design, visual communication, with a passion for 'getting it right', and you'll collaborate closely with Foundation staff and stakeholders to do just that!

This is a principally virtual volunteering opportunity that is 'project-oriented'. In so many words, there is scope for the ideal candidate to define and fill the 'role'.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Age - 18
  • Post-secondary certification/accreditation (or equivalent training) in 'graphic design' or a related field is a definite asset
  • Work or volunteering experience as a graphic designer or related field
  • Demonstrable 'graphic design' skills, combined with a strong portfolio that includes quality examples of computer-aided design
  • Fashion design experience is welcome
  • You're comfortable with, and proficient in the use of, desktop publishing software/tools (incl. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Reliable access to the Internet and devices/software suitable (needed) for this 'role'
  • Effective project and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Engaging, collaborative, you're able and prepared to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Police Check required

FLEXIBLE, subject to a monthly 'budget' of volunteer hours, the number of which may vary. Some projects/campaigns may involve a high concentration of hours. PLUS, 'in-person' meetings are possible.



Training

ORIENTATION and TRAINING will be virtual for this 'role', unless the successful candidate is otherwise advised.
