The Harris Brand Foundation (Foundation) has been founded as a not-for-profit charity dedicated to advance education by providing publicly available scholarships, bursaries, and other forms of financial assistance to Student-Athlete individuals pursuing elementary, secondary and or postsecondary education.Our outreach focuses on working with like-minded individuals from the private and corporate sectors to curate meaningful and impactful sponsorship opportunities for its qualified donees. Our slogan: Financially supporting Student-Athletes with their Dreams.

As the Foundation continues to build its capacity and expand its message and outreach, we're currently recruiting for a volunteer 'Social Media' Coordinator who will be responsible for managing the Foundation's online presence, message, and outreach, using popular 'social media' platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin. Their role includes developing engaging content, creating an online community attracted and loyal to 'the brand', and creating an online presence/message that is representative of the Foundation and our 'brand values'.

If you are a tech-savvy professional, willing and able to invest your valuable time in volunteering your proven skills and experience in support of youth, with a corresponding interest in 'connecting' to and communicating with current and potential Foundation stakeholders through online, virtual channels, we would love to meet you!


In the 'role' of 'Social Media' Coordinator, the successful candidate will undertake a variety of tasks and responsibilities, including: 

  • Understanding Foundation 'brand' KPI’s and defining them specifically for each 'social media' platform
  • Researching audience preferences and discovering and implementing strategies that support current 'social media' trends
  • Overseeing 'social media' accounts’, their settings and layouts
  • Creating engaging text, image and video content
  • Tracking customer engagement and SEO to optimize campaign content
  • Developing an optimal posting schedule, considering platform traffic and customer engagement metrics
  • Collaborating with our management team to produce attractive and informative campaigns
  • Tracking campaign performance
  • Suggesting new ways to attract prospective audience members, such as promotions and competitions
  • Engaging with audience, responsive to to any queries that may come in on each platform
  • Staying up-to-date with changes on all 'social platforms' to ensure maximum effectiveness
  • Fostering relationships and expanding networks of industry professionals, communities and/or influencers on 'social media'

  • Minimum Age - 18
  • Post-secondary certification/accreditation (or equivalent training) in Marketing, 'Social Media' Management/Coordination or a related field
  • You have proven work experience in 'social media' online development, management and coordination
  • Comfortable in the administration of  popular 'social media' platforms (ie. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin)
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics is a plus
  • Reliable access to the Internet and device/software suitable for this 'role'
  • Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels, plus you've the foresight to anticipate trends and act upon them proactively 
  • Excellent English communication skills, combined with the ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
  • You're naturally collaborative with others, while able to volunteer independently with minimal supervision
  • Project-oriented, you respectful of timelines and deadlines
  • Police Check required

    FLEXIBLE, subject to a monthly 'budget' of volunteer hours, the number of which may vary. Some projects/campaigns may involve a high concentration of hours. PLUS, 'in-person' meetings are possible.
