About the Position
Position: 2904 - Volunteer City Photographer > ACTIVE during COVID-19
Organization: Heart Comonos
Position Address: Cooksville, Mississauga, ON, Canada and from the volunteer's residence
Location: Mississauga, Virtual

Heart Comonos (from the Latin 'Together as one') is well on the way to become a community cultural hub near the downtown core of Mississauga, located in the Cooksville neighbourhood [ SEE our Facebook 'link' in Social Media, and the Map, below ]. Currently, we continue to initiate numerous community engagement projects with the aim of creating connections among citizens, organizations, and associations. Our approach is generally known as ‘Asset-Based Community Development’ with an emphasis on people who may not be as engaged with their community as they ought to be (eg. isolated seniors, residents facing the hardships of COVID-19, the less fortunate, disadvantaged, and vulnerable).

Our Volunteer City Photographer ideally is a local resident who will take photos locally in Cooksville (Mississauga). We are in immediate need of images principally for our website and we are looking for someone who can capture the essence of the neighbourhood by taking photos that feature the area, plus visually establish it as a landmark.

Our Volunteer City Photographer is responsible for taking a gallery of interesting, visually informative photos of the neighbourhood, on an ongoing basis. The images ideally will be of professional quality, and they should be captivating within the Heart Comonos website, so as to immediately attract and 'keep' the public in terms of access to the website (and other 'social media' platforms).

Bonus if you know how to use a drone camera, as that would be fantastic but not required. We really would like to capture the grassroots nature of our work by authentically capturing the neighbourhood. It's important to us that we showcase the diversity and beauty of Cooksville and its inhabitants, residential, commercial, and cultural.

Heart Comonos seeks a suitable volunteer for IMMEDIATE ENGAGEMENT. Please do not hesitate to indicate your interest in contributing your time and talents/skills/experience. Volunteers with a 'profile' in Volunteer MBC's Referral System should upload a RESUME, then 'click' the yellow box 'Apply Now!' (above/below) to send their name/contact info directly to Heart Comonos, and we will contact you. Or, you can contact us directly (see How to Contact, below).

After you have submitted your Application, please monitor your 'Junk/Spam' email folders and leave space on your voicemail for communications from Heart Comonos. Thank you for your 'neighbourly interest'!

Especially as long as the COVID-19 restrictions last, an excellent means by which you can connect, then stay connected, to your community, while being part of a community service organization that assists those who are 'socially isolated' and otherwise disadvantaged + 'Network', build your personal profile, increase your 'connectivity', while learning about Cooksville, its identity, cultural diversity, and place in Mississauga + Join a team of capable staff and dedicated, engaging volunteers to build a more involved, safer, neighbourly Cooksville (create a 'neighbourly vibe'!) + Reap the personal health and wellness benefits from the 'role', as you promote health and wellness in your community + This 'role' is made for your talent, training, professional skills and experience, and it can be yours to be creative about! Yours to fulfill!

  • You should submit a resume and be prepared to provide a portfolio of some of the images you have taken
