Goal

VON Canada is a national, not-for-profit, charitable home and community care organization. For more than 115 years, our nurses, therapists and other health care providers have cared for Canadians in their own homes. Today, we offer more than 75 home care, personal support, and community services designed to help people of all ages to get healthy and stay healthy. Our team of more than 5,000 staff and 9,000 volunteers serves Canadians in more than 1,200 communities across our country.

Especially during the COVID-19 Emergency, our Meals on Wheels program has taken on particular importance. To support it, we require Volunteer Food Packagers, specifically an 'older adult' (retiree), who will assemble food in packages and stage it for our Delivery Drivers, both 'roles' that we regard as volunteer essential services. This 'role' is a critical 'link' in the chain that will contribute towards sustaining the health of VON clients. DURING the COVID-19 Emergency, strict HEALTH & SAFETY procedures will be followed at the food depot (see 'Map', below), plus the VON abides by 'contactless delivery' during COVID-19.
