GoalCreated in 2015, Restoration and Empowerment for Social Transition (R.E.S.T.) Centres is a not-for-profit organization committed to ending youth homelessness by focusing on intervention and prevention, while providing holistic support for youth aging out of the foster care system. Through strategic partnerships, R.E.S.T. offers a diverse range of services and programs to youth transitioning from the care and custody of the Children's Aid Society before they find themselves in a position of needing emergency help. |

Description[ PLEASE NOTE: We are accepting and screening volunteer applications during the COVID-19 Emergency, so do not hesitate to APPLY! ] The ideal candidate in the 'role' of Social Media Coordinator will create, maintain, and enlarge a strong online presence for our organization. This volunteer will implement online marketing strategies through 'social media' accounts (i.e., Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook) in an effort to broadcast/amplify our brand, cause, and programs awareness. Additionally, this individual will grow to understand our target audience(s) and create an appropriate strategy to reach into the community more effectively to achieve the goals outlined above. This opportunity entails a key 'role' that ideally allows you to 'build from the ground up' in helping us define our 'brand', its vision/mission, and impact, within the local community. As such, you will come with an established, mature perspective as to what the obligations of the 'role' are, plus be already aware of the 'best practices' designed to achieve these and maximize your volunteer engagement. Time CommitmentThis is a Long Term (More than 6 months) commitment starting 2021-02-26Due Date:2021-03-12 Shifts are available Anytime WEEKLY: We are looking for someone who is willing to dedicate between 5-10 hours of their time, with FLEXIBILITY, depending upon specific tasks/projects/campaign deadlines, or events. While your independent work can happen on your own determined time, there are meetings and collaborative sessions that may take place weekday evenings and on weekends. Volunteering will be done REMOTELY, principally from the volunteer's home. |
