The Vita Centre is a non-profit charity, serving Peel region, dedicated to providing excellent support, education, and counselling to vulnerable families, including pregnant and parenting youth, with the goal of empowering them to move forward and thrive. We look to achieve a community where youth can make a choice for life, even in undesirable circumstances, such that they become established, supported, and accepted, thereby allowing positive outcomes for their child. Recently, due to COVID-19 restrictions, our programs have gone mainly virtual.Our 'Supper Connection' program currently embraces a direct outreach and assistance for parents of young children and their families. Beyond the principal focus upon strengthening food literacy skills and access to healthy foods, in collaboration with the food bank Eden Food For Change, it's now possible for program participants to receive a Good Food Box delivered to their homes. To accomplish this, we are in need of volunteer Delivery Drivers, who will be key to the success of this initiativ. Currently, the program is running every Friday, with deliveries in BRAMPTON and MALTON.


As a 'Good Food Box' Delivery Driver, you will:

  • provide reliable transportation for weekly pick up and delivery of Good Food Boxes
  • every Friday, for the duration of the program, you will pick up (a maximum of ) 10 Good Food Boxes from the food bank Eden Food For Change, mid-morning
  • be briefed about the addresses in Peel region for deliveries that have been assigned to you (focus currently is on Brampton and Malton)
  • attend at each assigned address, then 'text' or telephone the intended recipient to advise of your arrival/delivery, so that the process shall be CONTACTLESS
  • keep a log of deliveries, so that tracking and records may be kept

Delivery drivers are needed immediately for Friday December 2nd, 9th and 16th. Please register for this role in the 'Supper Connection' program right away. Volunteers with 'profiles' in Volunteer MBC's Referral System can click the yellow box 'Apply Now!' (above/below) to send your name/contact information to Vita Centre.   • Full Class 'G' Ontario Driver's Licence
  • Access to a sanitary, reliable vehicle (with storage capacity) that is insured as required by the Province of Ontario
  • You are able to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 10 lbs. (5 kgs) by yourself (some stairs may be involved)
  • Solid English oral/written communication skills
  • You have a reliable smartphone that will enable you to 'text' or phone recipients about deliveries, plus stay in touch with Vita staff 
  • You're familiar with 'GPS' and/or 'Google Maps' (or similar apps that will assist you with efficient deliveries)
  • You can commit to the volunteer weekly engagement schedule over the entire program (until mid-December, 2022)
  • Firm commitment to learn and abide by COVID-19 Health & Safety rules (incl. CONTACTLESS delivery)

    SCREENING of applicants will be 'virtual' (tel/email/online interviewing), unless otherwise advised.

Time Commitment
This is a Short Term (3 months or less) commitment starting 2022-12-02 AND ending 2022-12-16
Shifts are available on the following days
 - Friday Morning, Friday Afternoon


PICKUP: At Eden Food for Change at 10am on Friday, December 2nd, 9th, and 16th

DROPOFF: Immediately following to Brampton locations.



MANDATORY: You will be briefed on the procedure for pick up, handling, and delivery of Good Food Boxes, and training will focus on COVID-19 Pandemic 'social distancing', personal protection, and contactless delivery.
