We are growing, and we need your help and support to do so! The newly created position of volunteer 'Web Administrator & Designer' will manage and maintain the organization's website as well as the infrastructure of the site’s content, while taking into account, functionality, appearance, content, and performance. The selected individual will also update the more visible parts of the website, manage the infrastructure of site content such as tweaking the design or adding new sections.

The bulk of the position will involve adding apps and widgets to the website to increase functionality, updating content, and ensuring the website is user friendly. Along with that, our social media team requires graphic templates for its digital media strategy. You will be key in providing feedback on the current website layout and how it can be improved, and working in a cross-functional team to execute the strategy.

Goal
Created in 2015, Restoration and Empowerment for Social Transition (R.E.S.T.) Centres is a not-for-profit organization that finds and provides shelter for homeless black youth within the Region of Peel, while providing holistic support for youth aging out of the foster care system or group homes. Through strategic partnerships, R.E.S.T. offers a diverse range of services and programs to youth transitioning from the care and custody of the Children's Aid Society before they find themselves in a position of needing emergency help.

R.E.S.T. Centres considers itself a grassroots organization, committed to build and expand its impact. Currently, we are searching for a volunteer 'Web Administrator and Designer' to volunteer time with us to help our Social Media and Communications teams leverage our website capability to promote in-house content and graphic design.

As we expand our core offerings and programs, we seek a volunteer who can help us leverage resources already available to promote volunteer positions, blog posts, testimonials, press releases and graphics on our website. In this key 'role', the 'Web Administrator and Designer' will be a key factor in making sure that our programs and marketing teams are supported in their outreach and promotional initiatives.

Position Qualifications
- Experience using 'Wix' for website maintenance, design, and accessibility (or a similar web-hosting service)
- Knowledge and experience in website frameworking
- Ability to apply basic UX design principles
- Knowledge of basic HTML / CSS is an asset
- Ability to create enticing and visually appealing graphics using any photo editing platforms or graphic design platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A team player who wants experience or enjoys working in cross-functional teams
- Reliable access to the Internet (appropriate devices, software, etc.)
- Ability to volunteer about 5 hours per week, and we seek an OVERALL COMMITMENT of MORE THAN 6 MONTHS (to promote continuity)

WEEKLY: We are looking for someone who is willing to dedicate between 5-10 hours of their time, with FLEXIBILITY, depending upon specific tasks/projects/campaign deadlines, or events. While the work you do independently can be done on your own schedule, there will be some collaborative meetings that will happen in the afternoon and/or evenings.

Volunteering will be done REMOTELY, principally from the volunteer's home.

Training
- Speak with the executive director to understand the scope and outcomes desired
- Cooperate with HR to onboard
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to understand long term/short term objectives, project planning, and next steps
- Work with communications, social media and programs management teams to collaborate on strategy and next steps

During the COVID-19 Emergency, the interactions outlined above will necessarily be 'VIRTUAL' (i.e., 'meetings' via the Internet, telephone, etc.)
