About the Position
Position: 2828 - Volunteer Drivers
Organization: Good Neighbour Project
Location: Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, Virtual

Goal

The Good Neighbour Project (GNP) started on March 14, 2020 in response to how seniors and persons with disabilities or residents otherwise classified as 'vulnerable' (immununecompromised, 'self-isolated'/quarantined, pregnant persons, single parents), plus 'essential service' workers, were unable to access groceries when the pandemic first started. We offer a delivery system coordinated through our hotlines as well as support for organizations, food banks and community centres that work with vulnerable people. HIGH DEMAND for 'Volunteer Drivers' has continued into a modified 'Stage 2' for the communities in Peel region (and Toronto). The GNP appeals to you to get engaged within your local community in a very meaningful 'role' that has DIRECT IMPACT. See 'Description', above, for details. DON'T DELAY. APPLY NOW!

Description
  1. You will be assigned a resident in need, who ideally lives in your neighbourhood, by the GNP (after 'Training' - see below)
  2. After contacting your assigned resident, you will shop with the list provided to you, according to a mutually arranged schedule
  3. 'Contactless Delivery' will be arranged to your assignee's residence
  4. You will account to your assignee re. puchases made, and reimbursement (as set up) will follow
  5. Reporting, as requested, will be made to the GNP
  6. Additional assignments may be made, provided that you are available. PLEASE APPLY IMMEDIATELY, as the COVID-19 Emergency continues. Clients with volunteer profiles within Volunteer MBC's Referral System should click the yellow box 'Apply Now!' (above/below) to indicate (register) your interest in this volunteering opportunity. WHEN YOU CLICK 'Apply Now!', you also will gain immediate access to the GNP online volunteer application form. IF you do not have a volunteer 'profile' with Volunteer MBC, create one!
