'At-home' Projects (September 21 to October 4, 2020):
Complete e-learning modules and action projects in your backyard and neighbourhood. Five modules will be available, with the opportunity to earn up to 10 volunteer hours.
Topics will include:
- Introduction to outdoor health and safety, climate change, and community stewardship
- Microplastics
- Invasive plant species
- Pollinators
- Habitat creation

'In-person' Events (optional):
Participate in outdoor volunteer activities in the community. Events each will be approximately 3 hours in length, and will take place in greenspaces across Peel, York, and Durham regions.
Youth will sign up for individual opportunities. A maximum of 9 volunteers per event will be maintained in order to adhere to COVID-19 restrictions.
To participate in 'in-person' events, volunteers must complete the “Introduction” e-learning module.


Volunteer MBC clients with a 'profile' in its database may click the yellow box, 'Apply Now!', below, to access the Toronto and Region Conservation's online Application Form, plus automatically record the application date in their 'profiles'.

NEW THIS FALL! The 'Conservation Youth Corps' program has been adapted to include 'VIRTUAL' opportunities, in addition to limited 'in-person' engagement.

Take action and earn high school volunteer hours at home and in your community!

High school students will have two opportunities to earn volunteer hours:

> 'At-home' modules (Program runs from September 21 to October 4, 2020)
> 'In-person' events - maximum of 9 teen volunteers per cohort (available in October)

+ Opportunity to learn about conservation efforts in your community
++ Opportunity to get outside and make a difference in your community, by direct contribution to the management/preservation of the local environment!
+++ Opportunity, volunteering 'online', to earn 10 hours towards your '40 hour' Ontario High School community service graduation requirement (additional hours for 'in-person' events)

Position Qualifications
● MINIMUM age - 14 (maximum age - 18)
● Currently enrolled in High School and returning in September, 2020
● Able to commit to volunteering for the duration of the program
● Interested in the outdoors and environmental conservation
● Comfortable working in a team environment, and independently in a 'virtual' setting
● Punctual and reliable, prepared to complete tasks on time
