Goal

The Small Arms Inspection Building (SAIB) is a compelling, light-filled WWII heritage building, located in south Mississauga, with an essential connection to parkland, conservation lands, the waterfront, trails, and Lakeview neighbourhood. This historical and cultural landmark was saved from intended demolition through the efforts of Creative Hub 1352, a non-profit, community-driven organization. Creative Hub 1352 has been working with the City to represent the community in championing the preservation and adaptive reuse of the property, initiating vision, design, and adaptation of an exciting space for individuals to connect, collaborate, and create within the SAIB. IN TERMS OF VITAL ONGOING SUPPORT, the CreativeHub 1352 'Director of Memberships' is an executive and voting member of the Board of Directors, appointed in a manner consistent with the by-laws of the not-profit corporation. The 'Director of Memberships' works collaboratively with the Chair(s), the Executive Committee, the Board of Directors, volunteers and staff, mandated to support the Board in achieving its governance and membership responsibilities. Description

The 'Director of Memberships' mandate includes: - Create and implement a membership engagement and development strategy and plan - Develop membership solutions that engage and increase participation - Use measurement tools to provide reports on metrics, and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives - Provide member support answering questions and manage all online forums - Directs and implements strategies to achieve membership and strategic plan goals and objectives - Directs the development, coordination, and management of membership and unit projects, programs and activities and provides leadership and direction for membership growth - Develops data-driven strategies to grow membership - Manage/facilitate 'social media' communication for member engagement; in collaboration with the Director of Communications, participate in creating, managing and growing CEC's presence through blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and other strategically relevant online platforms - Manages membership drives, INCLUDING co-ordination/attendance at supporting events and programs, PLUS involvement in 'virtual' campaigns - Coordinates membership appreciation and communication initiatives, working in collaboration with the Director of Volunteer Services - Works in coordination with the Director of Marketing and Communications to launch targeted marketing campaigns (social/email/web/events) that would support membership growth PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO APPLY! Qualifications

  • Availability and commitment to serve a 2-year TERM on our Board of Directors
  • Volunteering experience, preferably in a leadership capacity, with an awareness of how the volunteer sector works
  • Past experience in non-profit Board governance is welcome (NOT REQUIRED)
  • Creative, with attention to detail
  • Project-oriented, capable of keeping to schedules and meeting deadlines, especially when volunteering undependently
  • Collaborative, capable of providing inspiring leadership within a dynamic team in ongoing development of Memberships for the 'Creative Hub 1352'
  • Reliable access to the Internet (ie. appropriate devices, software, service provider), especially for remote ('virtual') volunteering during COVID-19 DURING the COVID-19 Emergency, we are SCREENING all 'volunteer applicants' REMOTELY ('virtually': telephone/email/online interview(s) via Skype, Zoom, etc.) See 'Description', above for application procedures.

Time Commitment
This is a Long Term (More than 6 months) commitment

FEATURES: 1. MONTHLY meetings by the Board of Directors (usually, 2nd Monday of each month) 2. Committee and sub-committee meetings (frequency is dependent upon ongoing projects) 3. Volunteer hours outside the meeting schedule(s) to address program/project planning, etc. 4. Attendance at, participation in, Events/Promotions UNTIL COVID-19 eases, volunteering will be principally REMOTE ('virtual', from home), unless notified otherwise. COVID-19 'Health & Safety' procedures will be observed in order to protect all volunteers, staff, and Board members.



Training

The successful candidate will have an introductory orientation to 'Creative Hub 1352' and the SAIB, and to its Board of Directors.
