The 'Volunteer Website Developer' will be responsible for developing and updating our website activities and our clients' websites, addressing content strategy, 'link' building, and keyword strategy to increase rankings on all major search networks.
- Design new website, using WordPress and our hosting platform
- Track, report, and analyze website analytics and PPC initiatives and campaigns
- Optimize copy and landing pages for search engine marketing
- Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimization
- Troubleshoot website problems
- Stay up-to-date on technology
- Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking, and other factors in order to improve SEO positions for target keywords
- Build and shape visitors’ experiences at websites

'ITechSkills Academy' is a not-for-profit, community-based organization committed to assisting individuals to enhance their knowledge of Information Technology (IT) either for employment or in their day-to-day life using technology with a focus on individuals who identify as new immigrants, First Nations, Inuit or Métis, racial minorities, women or youth, and persons who were previously incarcerated. Our principal aim to enable individuals to upgrade and update their skills to participate and integrate more fully in Canadian society. by assisting them in acquiring the technical skills needed for their careers and to achieve self-determination as well as economic, social and political equality.

We seek at least ONE capable, committed volunteer to manage our website and our clients' websites, to assist in design, then engage in management and further development on a regular basis.

Position Qualifications
● Proven 'Wordpress' experience
● Able to develop ideas and processes and clearly express them
● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
● In-depth experience with website analytics tools (e.g, Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)
● Able to solve complex problems
● Project-oriented, respectful of strict deadlines

ONE (1) day per week to review all of the work that is done, then work principally from home.
DURING the COVID-19 Emergency, screening, orientation of successful candidates, and weekly meetings will be 'VIRTUAL' (telephone/email/online conferencing).

There will be a comprehensive orientation that includes details about all the website and hosting platforms/services that we use.
