As a valued Member of the Board of Directors, you will:
- Provide leadership by setting the mission, vision and values of CFSPD, and ensure that these are reflected in programs and services and their delivery
- Select Executive Director and review the ED's performance in achieving CFSPD's strategic direction
- Involvement in planning, prioritizing, and goal setting, to respond creatively to the ongoing challenges of meeting the increased needs of a growing community and subsequent service requirements
- Ensure that Agency standards are maintained by good governance and fiscal responsibility
- Advocate on behalf of our clients to improve the provision and access to social services within our community by speaking to politicians, funders, community audiences, and other stakeholders
- Commit to developing fundraising strategies, cultivating donor relations, organizing and promoting special events, and approaching individuals, businesses, schools and service clubs for financial support
- Consider the organization a philanthropic priority and make/get annual gifts that reflect that priority. So that CFSPD can credibly solicit contributions from foundations, organizations, and individuals, CFSPD expects to have 100 percent of Board Members make/arrange an annual contribution that is commensurate with their capacity

The Board of Directors of 'Catholic Family Services of Peel-Dufferin' is a community-based 12-member board committed to a human-care agenda designed to meet the needs of a rapidly expanding community rich in culture and diversity. Coming from all walks of life and from different backgrounds and experiences, Board members bring their insight, enthusiasm and expertise to ensure that agency standards are maintained by good governance and fiscal responsibility. Members increase their awareness about important social issues and needs facing our community and the role of the provincial government and other funders in meeting those needs. Staff members support Board awareness by providing program presentations and information sessions at regular meetings.

We currently are seeking upstanding members within the communities that CFSPD serves to join our Board of Directors. Board members will sustain and improve our programs and services, while providing vital, responsible oversight.

Position Qualifications
● Attend all monthly Board meetings and AGM for the 3-YEAR TERM of your membership on the Board (with eligibility to be re-elected for one further term)
● Reliable access to the Internet through appropriate devices (PC, laptop) for the purpose of 'virtual' meetings (during COVID-19)
● Join one Board committee (meetings will be coordinated to complement full Board meetings)
● Participate at regular fundraising events
● Represent CFSPD to stakeholders in the community
● Assist the Executive Director and Board Chair in identifying and recruiting other Board Members as needed
● Participate in Board Evaluation

PLEASE NOTE: Screening for this 'position' will be 'virtual' (remote) during the COVID-19 Emergency (telephone/email/online interview).

Wednesday Evening
