Come and join the volunteer team at one of our 11 Habitat for Humanity ReStore locations across the Greater Toronto Area! A ReStore is a retail store concept that sells new and gently used donated home furnishings and renovation materials at great prices. Sale proceeds support Habitat's mission of helping working, low-income families build a brighter future through affordable home ownership.


What you need to know:

  • Volunteers are not required to have prior customer service experience
  • Onsite training is provided by our ReStore staff
  • Any required safety equipment will be provided onsite
  • All volunteers must be a minimum of 16 years old (volunteers under the age of 18 require a waiver signed by a parent or guardian)

  • A 'CAN-DO' attitude
  • Good oral/written English
  • You will provide superb 'customer service' in a mature retail setting, with great staff support
  • Assist with pricing and merchandising, product assembly, repair, and donation drop offs
  • Attend all necessary Habitat for Humanity training sessions
  • Ability to volunteer as part of a team and independently
  • Committeed to adhere to volunteering schedule ('shifts') that will be mutually agreed upon

Time Commitment

Shifts are available on the following days
 - Tuesday Morning, Tuesday Afternoon, Wednesday Morning, Wednesday Afternoon, Thursday Morning, Thursday Afternoon, Friday Morning, Friday Afternoon

FLEXIBLE 4 hour shifts available Tuesday to Saturday, and a mutually agreed weekly schedule will be worked out.


ORIENTATION sessions are scheduled on a regular basis for you to come out and find out more about Habitat. TRAINING of all volunteers is provided by staff once you start.
